Train with us for a PhD or Post Doc!
We are always interested in applications from current Masters students or fresh PhD's looking for opportunities. If you find our work interesting and wish to be considered for a position do email us your CV. We will invite you for a interview. Tina and the lab members will be happy to speak to you about our research.
Currently, the labs is seeking application for Graduate students to work in the following areas:
Project 1: Metabolic regulation of stem and progenitor cell development:
The lab has recently been awarded the DBT-welcome senior fellowship. Under the aegis of this project the student will explore the underlying regulation of blood stem and progenitor development from a metabolic point of view.
Project 2: Exploring neuronal control of immunity in mosquitos:
It is well established that mosquitoes are vectors of many infections like malaria, dengue, Zika etc. What remains unclear is the underlying mechanisms that make mosquitoes competent vectors to transmit infections.
Under this project the student will explore the implications of odours (especially ones used currently as mosquito repellants or attractants) in vector competence. Our work in the fly has alluded to odour sensing in moderating immunity. Specifically the student will explore the implications of odours in moderating mosquito immunity and its impact on vector competence.
Interested candidates can write to [email protected] with CV and statement of purpose. Students with external fellowship (CSIR/UGC/INSPIRE etc.) will be preferred but students without fellowship are also encouraged to apply.
Prior experience in fly or mosquito work is not mandatory.
We are also offering a position for Bioinformatics/ DataScientist, who wants to contribute to groundbreaking research and drive innovation at the intersection of Genetics and Metabolism.
